We had an HMI visit last week to look at our Sports College Status and it was such a asset to be able to provide summary data of students performance in a format that could easily demonstrate the progress that students have made. Pupil Tracking Plus has made this job so much easier. Winnie Greer Assistant Head Teacher St Thomas More RC School |

I feel that the true test of any assessment system is the extent to which teaching staff around the school believe that the system works. Our school has changed it's systems for capturing data a number of times over the last few years. We have tried Excel based systems, Bromcom and a paper based solution within departments. At last, in Pupil Tracking we have a system that collects data across the school easily, is flexible enough for departments to configure yet is able to standardise data collection for every member of staff and, crucially, give them access to this information anywhere with an internet connection, be it broadband or dial up. The useful built-in features allow teachers to interrogate any of the data in the entire system and present it in teaching set or tutor group format. Department and Pastoral Heads can use it to gain an overview of what is going on in terms of assessment data, behaviour, progress and anything else that you configure the system to accept, quickly and easily. The technical team gives all the help you need to build the system effectively. This consists of you letting them know what you want as 'data fields' and Pupil Tracking doing the rest. Importing set data and personal data is quick and easy providing that you have access to your timetable data. The Excel and PDF download features are very slick and, more importantly, very user friendly. We are excited about the new system and for the first time feel that we have a system that will cope with the data demands of our school. We have seen previews of the new reporting system out in January 06 and we are confident that the package will simplify and improve the quality of written reports to parents. Danny Hilditch |

Pupil Tracking has enabled us to target groups of pupils far more effectively and monitor their progress with greater efficiency. All staff are using it to enter data and although in its early stages early signs are that many staff are using it to monitor and set targets for pupils. The fact that staff are able to enter/access data from home has been a major help. The ability for departments to also integrate their own bespoke database has helped bring about more focussed assessment opportunities for departments especially those with 'non specialist' staff, and facilitated the head of department’s monitoring role. Pupil Tracking’s unique 'Shared Data' model has helped our senior management team streamline the monitoring of key fields across all departments. The SMT have easy access to the data we need whenever we want it. Rolling Pupil Tracking out across the school was simple. It was demonstrated to heads of department, who then shared it with their teams; very user friendly so no problems. The nature of Pupil Tracking’s remote hosting has meant that the network manager and data managers have had their jobs eased to allow focus on more important tasks. Our experience of the customer support has been very impressive, all calls answered swiftly and efficiently with clear non jargon based guidance. Andy Owens Assistant Head Teacher West Hill School |

I found importing data very easy. Using Pupil Tracking has cut down on paperwork enormously and because it is so easy to use staff needed very little instruction to input the latest set of effort grades. Both myself and our SMG are very impressed. Chris Medcalf Data Manager Copley High School |

Pupil tracking is very user friendly. Importing data from your MIS is a simple process and allows the constantly changing / new data to be easily updated ensuring consistent accuracy. As Pupil Tracking is web based software it is extremely accessible, allowing staff to use the data whenever they require to facilitate tracking and improving pupil performance. Using Pupil Tracking has eliminated the constant paper chase of providing assessment data and collecting grades throughout the year. The system has been warmly received by staff and I anticipate that the data will be used more frequently. Jane Hemmings |

| Pupil Tracking has instantly improved our data collection and monitoring tasks. Staff have recently inputted estimated grades for Year 10 & Year 11 in just over a week - with minimal training - no mean feat with over 300 students in a year group! Usually, this would take weeks of paper chasing to get grades for just one-year group. Our administration staff couldn't believe just one click would then download all the data in any format to a spreadsheet. The simple, web-based system has allowed staff greater flexibility when completing termly progress indicators. In addition, Heads of Department can quickly make informed decisions without spending huge amounts of time juggling with different pieces of data on different computers or pieces of paper. The technical support has also been excellent with any queries quickly and professionally dealt with. All information on student progress is now quickly available to all - Form Tutors, Subject Staff, Heads of Year, Heads of Department as well as the Leadership Team. I fully expect Pupil Tracking to improve the quality of learning in the college as staff increase their use of prior attainment data in order to inform their teaching. Stockport Excellence Cluster wished to develop a longitudinal cross-strand tracking system for pupil interventions in the cluster schools. We approached Pupil Tracking with an outline of the type of system that was required. The system was developed to meet the specific needs of the Excellence Cluster. Individual pupil data e.g. date of birth, FSM, SAT results are uploaded centrally from the LEA data bank via pupils UPN. Each school can enter data about pupil interventions at the school, e.g. from the Gifted & Talented register or work with a Learning Mentor to individual sessions attended and importantly outcomes of the interventions. Strand Co-ordinators with responsibility for a strand can view data from all schools and have an overall view of their strand. The system developed by Pupil Tracking is proving easy for school staff
to access and use and is an important tool in progress monitoring, effectiveness
of interventions and their impact on pupil attainment. |

| We had an abundance of valuable
pupil data that was held on different electronic systems and mostly distributed
to staff in paper format. We needed a system that would pull all this data
together on to one central system that all our staff could easily access
regardless of their level of IT skills. Pupil Tracking took all our separate
data files and merged them together into one database. Because the data is now easier for staff to collate and because Pupil Tracking's web interface is so easy to use wherever and whenever they want, more staff are using the data and as a result more students are benefiting. Pupil Tracking has provided the means for the college to progress to a much more efficient and staff-friendly system for collecting and accessing pupil data, whether it be report grades, examination results, end-of-term test results, class lists or targeting data. We have a very good selection of IT systems available to staff but Pupil Tracking pulls everything together in a way that everyone can work with. Many of the tasks which were very onerous, such as collecting grades for progress reports and providing assessment and targeting data in various forms several times a year, have been greatly simplified due to the way the system works. The time the system saves me in my everyday role is significant. Most importantly I do not have calls from frustrated staff trying to get information from the central management system, or requesting replacement paper copies of data issued earlier in the year! All the information they need is at their fingertips! The guidance and technical support provided has also been first rate. Mr P Plevin Assessment Manager Reddish Vale Technology College |

As a head of department I find Pupil Tracking invaluable. I am able to set my pupils easily and accurately according to their ability levels in one simple process. Having the information at my fingertips at home has allowed me to work to tight deadlines with minimal interruption to my family life. Pupil Tracking’s excellent download functions allow me to manipulate data exactly as I want to. Mr S Bolland Director of ITC Werneth Secondary School |
